Who Really Uses Ghostwriters?

More people are authoring books now than at any previous point in history. Celebrities aren’t the only people who use ghostwriters, politicians, business leaders, and many ordinary people have used the services of ghostwriters.

The four main reasons people who have never dreamed of writing a book before now want to author one are:

·     Another way to earn money
·     They believe the story of their life, all they've overcome, will inspire others.
·     To prove and boost credibility in their fields, which can increase their earning power and open the door to more opportunities
·
To record their life or that of a relative in book form to show the type of character they have and what they achieved—a specific type of history to pass on to their family and future generations—that other people may also want to read about.

A lot of people who aren’t professional writers but would like to create a book find there is a lot more to it than they bargained for. Many don’t have the time to learn how to write a book at a professional level. After all, writing a 40,000 to 80,000-word book isn't an easy task. Another reason that puts many people off is sitting alone at the keyboard, typing away, month after month.
It usually takes writers more than a year to finish their first book, because, with a first book they’re not just writing, they’re learning the craft of writing. And then after all that, they will probably need to make the time to do it again and again, because it is in creating several books that a writer truly hones their craft.

If you want to write a book you are truly proud of, you need to pretty much do all the above. What if you don’t want to do those things, but you feel you have a book in you that needs to be written? What can you do—bring in a professional. Who do you call? A ghostwriter.

Ghostwriters are the secret creators of thousands of bestselling books. If you can't get your great story or helpful knowledge down on paper to publish as a book, hire a ghostwriter to do it for you.

Tremendous changes have taken place in the publishing industry in the last 20 years. Some of the most significant ones are:

·      Ebooks and print on demand came into play and they cost much less to publish than traditional print runs.
·      When Amazon created the Kindle e-reader, and promoted it so well, the popularity of ebooks skyrocketed.
·      In 2007, Amazon allowed authors to put their books directly with them (cutting out the publisher). A change that was then implemented by Apple, Barnes and Nobles, Kobo, and other online booksellers.
.
Now, that authors can indie publish by putting their books directly with distributors like Amazon, numerous people are sharing their life experiences by authoring memories, business books, and so on. Some of those books are by the authors on the front cover, but a lot of them are not, they were written by ghostwriters.

Typically, ghostwriters aren't the official author of the book, but occasionally they may be listed as a “co-author” in the acknowledgments. Usually, they are the ghostwriter and the person hiring them is the author of the book. The specifics of the arrangement will be clearly detailed in the contract between the author and the ghostwriter.

Your ghostwriter may have published their own books through traditional publishing or Indie publishing or also, quite likely, both. In these cases, your ghostwriter can help you get started with the process for either traditional or indie publishing for additional fees, of course.

But where can you find that dream ghostwriter, who’ll be able to capture your voice and tell your story the way you want it told?

Where to Find Ghostwriters
Two excellent sources for great ghostwriters are:

·      LinkedIn
This is a perfect place to run a general search for a ghostwriter. Many offer a free consultation and also be sure to ask for samples of their writing.

·     American Association of Ghostwriters
Among their many members, you can find experienced ghostwriters with expertise in your area who are ready to assist you in completing a book, article, blog post, speech, report, or whatever you're working on.

Many people find that employing a ghostwriter is the best option for making the book they've dreamed of a reality.

I Was An eBook Author Before eBooks Were Cool

I submitted my first book to Awe-Struck eBooks in the year 2000. I decided to go to the Predators and Editors list of publishers and submit to recommended sites only. That means the authors that wrote for them thought—the contracts were good, they paid on time, were easy to work with, knew what they were doing, etc.
I started at the front of the directory at A. Awe-Struck was the first on the list that was recommended and open to submissions for Historical Romances. Plus, they were interested in unusual time periods and mine was set in the dark ages, at the onset of the Saxon Wars. Awe-struck, the first publisher I submitted to, accepted my book and I signed a contract with them. The Fox Prince, later retitled The Celtic Fox, was released in January 2001. It came out in eBook format at that time and in print later that year.
The eBook could be downloaded anytime, anyplace to be read on a Rocketbook reader, a palm pilot, a laptop, or d...

Anyone Can Write A Memoir

Memoirs are written recollections of personal experiences that are significant to you. They aren't the story of your whole life—that's a biography. Memoirs are made up of the stories we all have tucked into our memories awaiting transcription. It's when we put those moments of our life onto paper that we begin to truly understand ourselves. We can pass on that understanding of who we are by sharing those stories in book form to friends, family, and readers we may never even meet. These stories might be about your childhood, travels or adventures, a crime or injustice that happened to you, or anything you want to write about, no matter how minor it may seem. You can write it yourself or hire a ghostwriter. Either way, you have to coax the story out of your subconscious—a ghostwriter can help with that in interviews. If you find it difficult to pin down a story to tell, then jot down a few words about your life experiences. Don’t rush yourself, take your time ...

Book Stores And Self-Published Authors Part I

So now your book has been ghostwritten. It's finished. Or maybe you or you wrote a book yourself but are new to the industry. Either way, if you are self-publishing it and want it in bookstores, this article is for you. Picture books and books for young children are different and some nonfiction and literary fiction, but other than that, the following information applies to most book genres. You can market and sell books without having them in brick-and-mortar stores. Your books don’t need to be in bookstores for successful sale numbers. Not at all. In many ways, there is no benefit to having your book on a store shelf when you consider most print books are sold online by Amazon. You can make high sales without having your books on store shelves. Many successful self-published authors do not sell their books in stores. It is unnecessary, and this is certainly not a recommendation to go that direction, especially since you have to deal with the cost and hassle of returns of unsold p...
